(2 August 2024, Hong Kong) Hong Kong athletes have achieved inspiring results at the Paris Olympics, fully demonstrating the capabilities of Hong Kong’s elite athletes. To pay tribute to all the Hong Kong team athletes who competed, Kai Tak Sports Park has specially created a dynamic lighting display with an “Olympics” theme. This will be the first large-scale outdoor LED light show presented on the exterior walls of the Main Stadium, running for two consecutive weekends starting on Saturday, 3 August, allowing the entire city to cheer on the athletes from Hong Kong!
As the future home venue for Hong Kong, Kai Tak Sports Park will provide ideal training and competition facilities for athletes after its opening in 2025, allowing more citizens to witness their perseverance and inspiring the next generation to pursue sports, jointly writing the brilliant chapter of Hong Kong’s sports arena. This large-scale outdoor lighting display on the exterior walls of the Kai Tak Main Stadium will make its grand appearance during the Olympic period, engaging the public and visitors to experience the fervent atmosphere of the Olympics.
The “Olympics” themed lighting display will begin with vibrant international-themed patterns, allowing the public to feel the vitality and joy of sports. This will be followed by cheering messages for the Hong Kong athletes, including “全城上下撐港隊” and “Go! Team HKG” etc., and dynamic images of Olympic events such as swimming, athletics, badminton, cycling, fencing, gymnastics, judo, rowing, sailing, windsurfing, table tennis, taekwondo, and triathlon. The names of the Team Hong Kong, China athletes who participated in the Paris Olympics will also be displayed on the exterior walls, to express gratitude for their dedication and efforts.

About Kai Tak Sports Park
Kai Tak Sports Park is a fully integrated sports, leisure and entertainment destination. The 28-hectare Sports Park will be part of the redevelopment on the site of the old Hong Kong International Airport in Kai Tak. The Sports Park features the 50,000-seat Kai Tak Main Stadium with a retractable roof, Kai Tak Main Arena with the flexibility to host community sports and events of up to 10,000 seats, and Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground with a capacity of 5,000 seats.
